Abstract
Kandungan free fatty acid (FFA) tinggi di dalam crude rice bran oil (CRBO) perlu dimurnikan dengan deasidifikasi. Proses deasidifikasi yang banyak digunakan adalah proses kimia dan fisika yang menyebabkan hilangnya senyawa bioaktif (γ-oryzanol) dan tidak ramah lingkungan. Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) menggunakan deep eutectic solvent (DES) untuk mempertahankan senyawa ini akan diimplementasikan pada penelitian ini. Lima DES berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya seperti Choline Chloride (ChCl)-Ethylene glycol 1:2 (DES I), ChCl-Glycerol 1:1 (DES II), ChCl-Urea 1:2 (DES III), ChCl-Oxalic acid 1:2 (DES IV), dan Betaine Monohydrate-Glycerol 1:8 (NADES) di bawah kondisi reaksi waktu (30, 60, 120, 180, dan 240 menit); suhu (30°C, 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C) dan rasio minyak molar: DES (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, dan 1:8) dengan kecepatan pengadukan 200 rpm digunakan. NADES di bawah kondisi reaksi 240 menit, 50°C dan minyak rasio molar DDRBO:DES 1:8 adalah metode terbaik dibandingkan dengan yang lain dengan % recovery γ-oryzanol 64,52% ± 0,53 dan % removal FFA 15,74%. Hasilnya juga mengungkapkan bahwa semakin lama waktu ekstraksi akan meningkatkan % removal FFA dengan 240 menit sebagai waktu ekstraksi terbaik, semakin tinggi suhu akan meningkatkan % removal FFA dengan suhu terbaik pada 50°C karena DES berada pada solubilitas tertinggi dan rasio molar DDRBO:DES yang lebih besar akan meningkatkan % removal FFA, dengan rasio molar terbaik dalamDDRBO:DES adalah 1:8.

High content of free fatty acid (FFA) inside crude rice bran oil (CRBO) needs to be purified by deacidification. Deacidification process that is widely used are chemical and physical processes which causes the loss of bioactive compound (γ-oryzanol) and un-environmentally friendly. The Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) using deep eutectic solvent (DES) to preserve this compound would implemented to this study. Five DESs based on previous researched such as Choline Chloride (ChCl)-Ethylene glycol 1:2 (DES I), ChCl-Glycerol 1:1 (DES II), ChCl-Urea 1:2 (DES III), ChCl-Oxalic acid 1:2 (DES IV), and Betaine Monohydrate-Glycerol 1:8 (NADES) under reaction conditions (30, 60, 120, 180, and 240) minutes ; (30°C, 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C) temperature and molar ratio oil : DES (1: 1, 1: 2, 1: 3, 1: 4, and 1: 8) with a stirring speed of 200 rpm were used. NADES under reaction conditions 240 minutes, 50°C and molar ratio oil: solvent 1:8 was the best method compared to others with γ-oryzanol % recovery 64.52% ± 0.53 and FFA % removal 15.74%. The results also revealed that the longer time extraction would increase FFA% removal with 240 minutes as the best time extraction, the higher the temperature would increase the FFA% removal with the best temperature at 50°C because DES was at the highest solubility and the greater DES molar ratio would further increase the percent removal of FFA, with the best molar ratio in oil: DES was 1:8.
