Abstract

The planning method using direct displacement based design (DDBD) analyzes the building until it reaches its inelastic state when the earthquake load occurs, the magnitude of the planned displacement is determined at the beginning of the design so that structural damage can be controlled and performance can be determined. The DDBD method designs buildings by defining substitute structure concepts embodied in the use of effective parameters, as well as ductility and equivalent viscous damping. In this final project, the redesign of Fave Hotel Cilacap building using DDBD method. Building 10 floors with detailing using Special Momen Resisting Frame and material using reinforced concrete. Building performance planning is validated for achievement using pushover analysis. From the calculation result, the value of base shear force with DDBD method is 3547.38 kN x-x direction and 3794.4 kN y- y direction, with Life Safety plan performance level. The result of performance evaluation with pushover analysis to the structure that was designed got the displacement value according to ATC40, FEMA 356, and FEMA 440 are 0.185, 0.262, 0.262 for the direction of xx and 0.206, 0.256, 0.256 for the direction yy, overall building performance is included in Life Safety category. From the above discussion can be concluded that the analysis with direct displacement based design (DDBD) method for performance-based planning provides performance values according to plan, so effectively used as an alternative planning to replace the force based planning.
