Abstract

The final project is based on design problem related to a phenomenon of learning culture in the society. Several public facilities are built by the goverment to accommodate the learning and dicovering information and knowledges, i.e, reading park, library, museum, etc. Yet, those public building facilitiesa have not conformed to society’s desire and enthuasiam for learning environment. Thus, the design proposal aims to respond the users’ need based on learning interest, learning culture, and behavior of society, i.e, interactive museum.
Interactive arts and musics museum is designed using behavioral architecture approach. This approach is focused on learning behavior which considers the relationship of perception, action and reaction of person in architectural space. Furthemore, the design romantic and thematic approach is applied for exhibit objects arrangment to get certain space atmosphere. This approach is achived through programming method that maps the behavior of learning and also applies aesthetic technical method to create thematic atmosphere.
Several stages of designed are obtained from exploring and designing the formal aspects to technical aspects. Formal aspects include designing site plan, programming of space, circulation, and space atmosphere using planimetic programming method. Design of building mass and form are supported by respond to the site method. Technical aspects include building structure, material, building utililities. Finally, the design of interactive arts and music is integrated with interactive concepts and behavioral learning approaches to accomodate the users’ needs.
