Abstract
Minyak kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu sumber energi alternatif (biodiesel) tanaman sawit yang dikembangkan sejak tahun 1992, yang memiliki kapasitas besar 1 ton / jam atau 20 ton / hari. Biodiesel memiliki sifat yang baik sebagai bahan bakar alternatif serta nilai kalor, viskositas dan nomor setana mendekati sifat bahan bakar diesel. Karena tingginya emisi NOX dari bahan bakar biodiesel maka kami menambahkan metanol untuk mengurangi tingkat emisi. Metanol dipilih karena selain harganya lebih murah dan juga metanol biasanya digunakan untuk mencampur bahan bakar dalam mobil di beberapa negara. Penelitian sebelumnya telah dilakukan dengan mencampur minyak diesel dengan etanol sebagai hasilnya adalah perfomance naik dan emisi NOX naik dibandingkan dengan solar. Jadi diharapkan bahwa setelah pencampuran minyak sawit dan metanol dapat menjadi hasil yang lebih baik dari bahan bakar campuran antara metanol dan minyak sawit dalam hal kinerja, perfoma, proses pembakaran dan pengurangan NOX. Emulsi biodiesel sawit memberikan peningkatan kinerja daya, torsi, dan sfoc, selain itu juga meningkatkan proses pembakaran dan menurunkan emisi NOx ===================================================================================================
Crude Palm Oil is one of the alternative energy sources (biodiesel) of palm plants developed since 1992, which has a large capacity of 1 ton / hour or 20 ton / day. Biodiesel has good properties as an alternative fuel as well as calorific value, viscosity and cetane number approaching the nature of diesel fuel. Due to high NOX emissions from biodiesel fuel then we add methanol to reduce its emission levels. The methanol is chosen since in addition to cheaper price and also methanol is usually used to mix fuel in cars in some countries. Previous studies has been carried out by mixing diesel oil with ethanol as the results are improved performance and reduced NOx compared to diesel. So it is hoped that after mixing palm oil and methanol could be better results from mixed fuels between methanol and palm oil in terms of performance, combustion process and reduced NOx. Palm biodiesel emulsions provide improved power, torque, and sfoc performance, beside that also improve the combustion processes and decrease NOx emissions.
