Abstract

Indonesia has the potential to develop alternative energy. Alternative power plants are considered more environmentally friendly when compared to conventional power plants that use fuel oil and coal. Alternative energy can be solar cell and wind turbine. One important component in making this electricity generator is the charge controller. In principle, charging a battery charge is carried out by flowing electric current continuously. Charging and monitoring systems on a 12 volt battery level need to be designed so that the battery is protected from the causes of damage that often occurs, which is charging or using uncontrolled batteries. In this design, the sensors used are the source voltage, charging, and battery voltage sensors which have an extended uncertainty value (Uexp) is 1.36, 0.49 and 0.95. The charging process that has been made is able to reach a voltage of 13.38 V with a battery power of 16.11 Watt. The monitoring system is capable of displaying battery power and voltage on the charge controller.
