Abstract
Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan ekstraksi TiO2 dari pasir besi dengan metode pelindian fosfat yang didahului oleh dekomposisi dengan NaOH. Hasil pelindian dianalisa kandungan TiO2 dalam filtrat dengan ICP-MS. Padatan yang diperoleh dikarakterisasi dengan difraksi sinar-X (XRD). Analisa ICP-MS menunjukkan konsentrasi titanium terbesar diperoleh dari rasio massa NaOH/pasir besi sebesar 6/5 yaitu 259,5 mg.L-1. Prosentase perolehan titanium mencapai 36,85% pada pelindian dengan konsentrasi H3PO4 7M. Hasil XRD menunjukkan bahwa residu hasil pelindian berupa Fe2O3 dengan sistem rombohedral. ========== TiO2 was extracted from iron sand by phosphoric acid leaching and fused with sodium hydroxide. Liquid products from leaching process were analyzed by ICP-MS to determine the concentration of TiO2 and solid products were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The result showed that ratio 6/5 was optimal ratio of NaOH/iron sand with concentration of titanium 259,5 mg.L-1. The best results of H3PO4 leaching were obtained by H3PO4 7M with percentage of titanium 36,85%. XRD pattern of solid products showed the rhombohedral system of Fe2O3.
