Abstract
Kebisingan merupakan bentuk polusi yang dapat mengganggu kenyamanan. Saat ini telah berkembang suatu material absorpsi suara yang berasal dari komposit serat alam dan salah satunya serat rami. Disamping harganya yang murah, juga mempunyai sifat mekanik, fisik yang tinggi. Penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya disebutkan bahwa daya serap serat rami mencapai 0,993 berarti 99% suara dapat diserap pada frekuensi 1125 Hz. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengaruh ukuran dan komposisi serat terhadap nilai sound transmission class komposit poliester berpenguat serat rami untuk aplikasi material akustik dengan metode tabung impedansi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan nilai STC 48 didapatkan pada ukuran serat 280-450µm di komposisi 20% serat dan nilai STC30 pada ukuran serat 280µm di komposisi 25% serat. Nilai Transmission Loss tertinggi pada frekuensi 1000 Hz. Pada pengujian mekanik dilakukan uji impact dengan hasil pada komposisi 20% nilai maksimum impact sebesar 7,006 kJ/m2 pada ukuran 280-450 µm dan komposisi 25% serat nilai impact masksimum 5,804 kJ/m2 pada ukuran serat 280µm. Nilai absorpsi air tertinggi 20% serat di ukuran 450-900 µm 7,07 % dan komposisi 25% serat di ukuran 280µm 9,169 %.

Noise is a pollution that can disrupt comfort. At present a sound absorption material was developed from natural fiber composites and one of them is ramie fiber. Because it was cheap, it also has high mechanical and physical properties. Previous studies have stated that absorption of ramie fiber reached 0.993, it means that 99% of the sound can be absorbed at a frequency of 1225 Hz. The purpose of this study was to analyzed the effect of fiber size and composition on the value of sound transmission class with ramie fiber reinforced polyester composites for acoustic materials application by the impedance tube method. Based on the research that has been done the STC value of 48 was obtained at the fiber size of 280-450µm in the composition of 20% fiber and the STC30 value at the size 280µm fiber in the composition of 25% fiber. The highest Transmission Loss value at a frequency of 1000 Hz. In mechanical testing, the impact test was carried out with the composition of 20% the maximum impact value of 7.006 kJ / m2 at sizes 280-450 µm and the composition of 25% fiber the impact value was 5.804 kJ / m2 at the size of 280µm fiber. The highest water absorption value of 20% fiber in the size of 450-900 µm was x 7.07% and the composition of 25% fiber was 9,169% in the size of 280 µm.
