Abstract

Tubular member yang mengalami kerusakan akibat dent pada lokal member akan menurunkan kekuatan dari member baik secara lokal maupun global. Ketidakseragaman dari luas penampang silinder karena adanya dent menyebabkan gaya terpakai benar – benar diberikan pada suatu daerah dengan luas penampang yang kecil. Hal ini menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan tegangan yang terjadi pada daerah dent. Dengan Metode Elemen Hingga (FEM), telah dikembangkan cara untuk menentukan kekuatan maksimal pada struktur menerima dent. Pada tugas akhir ini, akan dijelaskan analisa dari sebuah tubular member yang mengalami tilt denting. Hasil dari analisa diketahui bahwa kapasitas maksimal pada tubular member jenis tilt memiliki kekuatan maksimal lebih banyak dari dent jenis transverse. Hal ini dikarenakan beban maksimal yang ada pada transverse dent adalah 84.5 kips sedangkan beban maksimal pada tilt dent adalah 91 kips walaupun memiliki dimensi dent yang sama.
Hasil dari analisa juga menyatakan Bila dimensi panjang, lebar dan kedalaman dent divariasikan. Dapat diketahui bila lebar memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap kapasitas maksimal. Pada panjang dent, memiliki pengaruh yang sama daripada kedalaman dent. Namun apabila besar variasi kedalaman dent disamakan dengan panjang dent tidak menutup kemungkinan kedalaman dent memiliki pengaruh lebih besar daripada panjang dent. ========================================================================================================================
A tubular member with a dented part on the surface, will reduce the strength of the tubular member significantly.The surface area of dented tubular member forces the force to be focused on the specific part of dented tubular member with a small surface area. This is creates a change on the stress near the dented part. With Fineite Element Method (FEM), a method has been developed to determine the maximum capacity of tubular member. This research will analyze tubular member with the dented part. the result of this research, the maximum capacity of a tubular member with tilted denting have more capacity than the maximum capary of a tubular member with a transverse dent. The maximum capacity of tubular member witht ransvese dent is 84.5 kips and the maximum capaciry of tubular member with tilted dent is 91 kips. Also a tubular member with varioation of its depth, length and width on tilted dent also will be analyzed. The result is the width of tilt dent has more siginificance on the maximum capaciry than the length and depth.While the length have more or less the same maximum capacirty with each variation.
