Abstract

Saat ini, terdapat 7,7 miliar jiwa yang hidup dan makan di muka bumi dengan jumlah tersebut yang terus bertambah dengan pesat. Hal tersebut tentu berdampak pada banyak aspek, termasuk aspek agrikultur yang merupakan pondasi besar manusia untuk bertahan hidup. Dari sana lah kemudian muncul konsep pertanian baru, yaitu urban farming. Urban farming merupakan sebuah konsep bercocok tanam dimana manusia tidak lagi terikat dengan aturan-aturan konvensional seperti lahan tanam, jenis tanah, irigasi, dll. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena manusia sendiri yang mengintervensi aturan-aturan dalam bercocok tanam. Seiring dengan berkembangnya perhatian masyarakat terhadap konsep ini, banyak arsitek kemudian mencoba untuk meningkatkan jumlah produksi dengan menggunakan pendekatan berupa konsep tipologi vertical farming. Meskipun konsep ini hampir pasti akan terjadi di masa depan, sayang untuk saat ini masih dinilai tidak aplikatif karena teknologi arsitektur dan agrikultur yang masih belum cukup mumpuni sehingga akan membutuhkan sumber daya yang jauh lebih besar dan proses yang jauh lebih kompleks. Tujuan dari laporan Tugas Akhir ini adalah penulis mencoba melihat posibilitas tipologi arsitektur yang baru dalam menjembatani era agrikultur saat ini menuju konsep tipologi vertical farming dalam konteks urban. Dengan begitu, tujuan dari konsep ini dapat difokuskan guna mengembalikan relasi antara masyarakat kota dengan agrikultur sehingga dapat meningkatkan sense of awareness mengenai permasalahan-permasalahan aspek agrikultur masa sekarang serta mempromosikan model tipologi arsitektur-agrikultur yang akan terjadi di masa depan. Dengan penjelasan tersebut, konsep tipologi yang dapat terbentuk adalah berupa sebuah ruang ekshibisi pertanian dimana masyarakat kota tidak hanya dapat melihat bagaimana sebuah sistem agrikultur itu bekerja, namun juga dapat merasakan bagaimana kehidupan bertani itu sendiri dengan ikut berpartisipasi langsung dalam kegiatan bercocok tanam di dalam objek.

As of today, there are 7.7 billion people who live and eat on earth with that number still growing rapidly. This certainly has an impact on many aspects, including the agricultural aspect which is a big foundation for humans to survive. From there it emerged a new agricultural concept, namely urban farming. Urban farming is a farming concept where humans are no longer bound by conventional rules such as planting land, soil type, irrigation, etc. This is because humans themselves who intervene in the rules of farming. Along with the arrising public attention to this concept, many architects then tried to increase the amount of production using an approach in the form of a vertical farming typology concept. Although this concept will almost certainly occur in the future, unfortunately for now it is still considered not applicable because of architectural and agricultural technology that is still not sufficiently qualified so that it will require far greater resources and a far more complex process. The purpose of this Final Project report is that the author tries to see the possibility of a new architectural typology in bridging the current agricultural era towards the typological concept of vertical farming in an urban context. In this way, the aim of this concept can be focused on restoring the relationship between urban society and agriculture so that it can increase the sense of awareness about current agricultural aspects and to promote future architectural-agricultural typology models. With this explanation, the typology concept that can be formed is in the form of an agricultural exhibition space where the city community not only can see how an agricultural system works, but also can feel how the farming life itself by participating directly in farming activities in the object.
