Abstract

Serat alam daun lontar dapat menjadi material industri karena memiliki kelenturan dan ketahanan yang baik serta ketersediaan bahan yang melimpah dengan pemanfaatan yang belum maksimal dan pengetahuan tentang anyaman daun lontar di masyarakat yang masih terbatas. Penggunaan komposit banyak diterapkan dalam segi industri transportasi dengan jenis komposit laminasi hibrid dan di era sekarang sering dijumpai pada pembuatan papan skateboard jenis longboard dengan menerapkan teknik sandwich core material untuk mengurangi berat papan. Penggunaan longboard saat ini adalah menjadi sarana transportasi jarak dekat di perkotaan dengan penambahan motor listrik yang menjadikan satu produk baru yakni Light Vehicle Electric Longboard. Produk elecrtic longboard menjadi sebuah trend di kalangan remaja di wilayah perkotaan untuk mobilitas jarak dekat menggantikan fungsi sepeda ataupun mobil serta sebagai sarana hobi menggantikan longboard konfensional.Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut peneliti mengeksplorasi material anyaman daun lontar untuk dijadikan hibrid komposit pada produk electric longboard. Produk yang dihasilkan merupakan produk craft – transportasi berupa Light Vehicle Electric Longboard.

Lontar leafs natural fiber can be an industrial material because it has good flexibility and durability as well as abundant availability of material with not maximal utilization and knowledge of woven lontar leaves in the community is still limited. The use of composites is widely applied in terms of the transportation industry with hybrid laminated composite types and in the present era is often found in the manufacture of skateboard/longboard by applying sandwich core material techniques to reduce board weight. The use of longboards at this time is a means of short-distance transportation in urban areas with the addition of an electric motor that makes a new product namely the Light Vehicle Electric Longboard. Electric longboard products are a trend among teenagers in urban areas for short distance mobility to replace the function of bicycles or cars and as a means of hobby in replacing conventional longboards. Based on this phenomenon, the reseachers explored woven lontar leaves to be used as a composite hybrid on electric longboard products. The products produced are craft products – transportation in the form of Light Vehicle Electric Longboard.
