Abstract
Teknik Pengawetan kayu dan finishing Shou Sugi Ban atau dengan sebutan lainnya adalah Yakisugi merupakan teknik finishing kuno dari Jepang yang sudah berusia lebih dari tiga ratus tahun. Teknik ini biasa digunakan untuk kebutuhan Exterior, Interior dan Furniture yang akan memberikan kesan antik yang bermutu tinggi. Warna hitam antik adalah ciri khas dari finishing produk yang dihasilkan dari teknik Shou Sugi Ban biasanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknik finishing Shou Sugi Ban atau Yakisugi pada produk fashion di Indonesia berupa tas serial wanita yang belum pernah dilakukan penelitiannya serta menemukan alternatif mudah untuk produksi industri rumahan buatan tangan yang dapat di produksi dengan mudah dan cepat dengan hasil yang terlihat mahal dan otentik. Dengan memanfaatkan kayu palet bekas dan limbahnya yang di olah terlebih dahulu sehingga menjadi layak untuk dijadikan produk baru kembali. Sebelum dilakukannya eksperimen, terlebih dahulu mengumpulkan analisis berupa jurnal dan referensi metode finishing Shou Sugi Ban terlebih dahulu kemudian dilakukan percobaan pewarnaan kepada objek penelitian yang di uji cobakan dengan berbagai macam pewarna hingga tampak seperti kayu yang premium pada hasilnya.

The wood preservation technique and Shou Sugi Ban finishing or otherwise referred to as Yakisugi is an ancient finishing technique from Japan that is more than three hundred years old. This technique is commonly used for Exterior, Interior and Furniture needs that will give a high-quality antique impression. The antique black color is a characteristic of finishing products that are produced from the Shou Sugi Ban technique usually. This study aims to apply Shou Sugi Ban or Yakisugi finishing techniques to fashion products in Indonesia in the form of female serial bags that have never been researched and find easy alternatives to the production of handmade home industries that can be produced easily and quickly with results that look expensive and authentic. By utilizing used wood pallets and their waste which is treated first so that it becomes feasible to become a new product again. Before the experiment, first collecting analysis in the form of journals and reference to the Shou Sugi Ban finishing method, then staining experiments on the research object was tested with various kinds of dyes to look like wood that is premium in the results.
