Abstract
kualitas menjadi sangat penting. Selama ini penentuan kualitas kopi
masih dilakukan oleh pencicip kopi sehingga bersifat subjektif. Laserinduced
=============================================================
Kopi Luwak (luwak coffee) is Indonesian coffee, where the
cherries were priorly digested by a civet (Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus)
and they were taken out along with feces in the form of hard skin seeds.
This coffee is the most expensive coffee in the world so that the
determination of the quality to be very important. During this time, the
quality of the coffee is still determined by the tester which it is
subjective. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is the atomic
spectroscopy methods that can be used to identify the element content of
the regular coffee beans and luwak coffee beans based on its spectral
character. This research, used six pairs of samples of regular green
coffee beans and luwak green coffee beans from East Java are analyzed
by LIBS. LIBS data processing method was performed by calculated the
peak area. The intensity ratio of N, H, and O as essential elelments
constituent compounds in coffee was applied with comparing the
elements with the host element. The comparison results obtained that the
intensity ratio values of luwak coffee bean is higher with increases
0.03% - 79.93%. Discriminant Function Analysis (DFA) was applied to
identify the elements that characterize the regular and luwak coffee
beans. Marker elements of coffee beans were identified by this method.
Ca, W, Sr, Mg, and H were used to differentiate the regular and luwak
coffee beans of arabica, while Ca and W were used to differentiate the
regular and luwak coffee beans of robusta.
