Abstract

The increasing popularity of Taman Wisata Perairan (TWP) Gili Matra (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air in North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara makes the three islands the main destination for tourists who come to Lombok. The location of the airport and the three islands which are separated by the sea requires tourists to change the type of transportation at least once, resulting in a difficult and an uncomfortable trip. Even tourists have to wait for the capacity of public boats to be fulfilled to depart, causing a lot of tourism time wasted. In this Final Project, an amphibious bus will be designed using point-based design method, an assessment of the comfort level and an economic feasibility analysis will be carried out. From a series of design processes, 42 seater amphibious bus has been obtained with LOA = 13,25 m, B = 2,50 m, T = 0,86 m, H = 1,20 m. The research shows that amphibious bus design can eases tourists to travel; provides travel comfort according to ISO 2631-1, Ministry of Transportation, and Motion Sickness Incidence (MSI) criteria; reduces travel time up to 110 minutes; reduces travel cost up to Rp 750.000,00 with Rp 100.000,00 of ticket price, and the building of amphibious bus as TWP Gili Matra tourist’s alternative transportation is financially feasible with the Net Present Value of Rp 23.819.176.144,15, the Internal Rate of Return is 27,65%, and the payback period within four years and 11 months.
