Abstract
Modifikasi aspal menggunakan bahan plastik merupakan salah satu bahan konstruksi penting dan inovatif untuk perkerasan lentur. Penambahan limbah kantong plastik (LDPE) pada campuran aspal dapat meningkatkan nilai stabilitas dan daya tahan campuran aspal. Penelitian ini mengamati pengaruh penambahan limbah kantong plastik pada campuran aspal dengan cara basah terhadap parameter uji marshall yang meliputi stabilitas, flow, VIM, VMA, VFA, dan MQ. Kadar penambahan limbah kantong plastik yaitu 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% dari berat aspal. Aspal yang digunakan penetrasi 60/70.
Tahap – tahap pada penelitian ini meliputi pengujian fisik agregat, analisa saringan, pengujian karakteristik aspal konvensional dan modifikasi, dan pengecekan spesifikasi Laston lapis pondasi yang mengacu pada spesifikasi umum PU Bina Marga 2018. Metode pencampuran plastik yang digunakan adalah cara basah, yaitu menambahkan plastik LDPE pada aspal yang telah dipanaskan. Agregat yang digunakan berasal dari PT. Calvary Abadi dengan fraksi 10-20, 10-10, 5-10, 0-5 serta aspal penetrasi yang digunakan penetrasi 60/70 dari PT. Bumindo Mojokerto.
Penelitian ini memberikan hasil studi eksperimental bahwa penambahan limbah kantong plastik dengan kadar plastik optimum memberikan dampak pada campuran laston lapis pondasi yang meliputi peningkatan stabilitas, flow, VIM, VMA dan MQ apabila didasarkan pada garis regresi serta terjadi penurunan nilai VFA dan Density. Kadar plastik optimum yang didapatkan adalah 3,5% dari berat aspal. Nilai parameter marshall yang didapat setelah penambahan limbah kantong plastik 3,5% adalah stabilitas 2320,68 Kg; flow 5,633 mm; VIM 4,8%; VMA 16,27%; VFA 75,12%; MQ 442,66 Kg/mm dan density 2,347 gr/cc. Penambahan limbah kantong plastik juga mempengaruhi karakteristik aspal. Hasil yang didapatkan meliputi penurunan nilai daktilitas, penetrasi, kehilangan berat, density serta peningkatan nilai titik nyala dan titik lembek.Nilai karakteristik aspal dengan penambahan limbah kantong plastik 3,5% adalah penetrasi 40,996; titik lembek 80,409 oC; titik nyala 224,589 oC; Daktilitas 141,916 cm; kehilangan 0,04232%; berat jenis 1,00299gr/cc.

Modification of asphalt using plastic material is one of the
important and innovative construction materials for flexible
pavement. Adding plastic bag waste (LDPE) to the asphalt mixture
can increase the stability and durability value of asphalt mixture.
This study examines the effect of adding plastic bag waste to the
asphalt mixture in a wet way to the Marshall test parameters which
include stability, flow, VIM, VMA, VFA, and MQ. The level of
additional plastic bag waste is 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% of the weight
of asphalt. The asphalt used is 60/70 penetration.
The steps in this study include physical aggregate testing,
filter analysis, testing of conventional asphalt characteristics and
modifications, and checking the asphalt concrete base
specifications that refer to the general specifications of PU Bina
Marga 2018. The plastic mixing method used is the wet method,
namely adding LDPE plastic on heated asphalt. The aggregates
used are from PT. Calvary Abadi with fractions 10-20, 10-10, 5-
10, 0-5 and penetration asphalt used 60/70 penetration from PT.
Bumindo Mojokerto.
This study provides the results of an experimental study that
the addition of plastic bag waste with optimum plastic content has
an impact on the mixture of asphalt concrete base which includes
increased stability, flow, VIM, VMA and MQ if it is based on a regression line and a decrease in the value of VFA and Density.
The optimum plastic content obtained is 3.5% by weight of asphalt.
Marshall parameter values obtained after the addition of 3.5%
plastic bag waste are the stability of 2320.68 kg; flow 5,633 mm;
VIM 4.8%; VMA 16.27%; VFA 75.12%; MQ 442.66 kg / mm and
a density of 2,347 gr / cc. The addition of plastic bag waste also
affects the characteristics of asphalt. The results obtained include a
decrease in the value of ductility, penetration, weight loss, density
and an increase in the value of flash points and soft points. The
characteristic value of asphalt with the addition of 3.5% plastic bag
waste is the penetration of 40.996; softening point 80,409 oC; flash
point 224,589 oC; Ductility 141,916 cm; loss of 0.04232%; specific
gravity 1,00299 gr / cc.
