Abstract
Berdasarkan program tahunan dari PKT, yang dinyatakan dalam data per 25 Januari 2018, dimana PT Pupuk Kaltim telah menyalurkan pupuk bersubsidi sebanyak 156.584 ton dengan rincian Urea 145.443 ton dan Nitogen Posphat Kalium (NPK) 11.141 ton, oleh karenanya perlu adanya peningkatan kapasitas pabrik terutama Operasional Kaltim-1 hingga Kaltim-4. Sebelumnya usaha peningkatan datang pada tahun 2011, dimana PKT mengeluarkan rencana masterplan pengembangan, hal ini merupakan usaha optimalisasi seluruh bahan, dan produk yang dihasilkan, baik barang atau muatan dikirim dalam 4 kelompok utama yaitu general cargo dan multipurpose, muatan curah kering dan muatan curah cair. Hal itu didukung dengan adanya fasilitas perairan TERSUS PKT yang memungkinkan untuk terbentuknya dermaga baru.
Mengingat hal tersebut diatas fasilitas dermaga menjadi salah satu prasarana laut yang vital bagi perusahaan, dan menunjang pada kondisi yang ada, maka PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) merencanakan dermaga baru yang memiliki fungsi multipurpose untuk kapal general cargo dan peti kemas 10.000 DWT.
