Abstract

================================================================================================================================
Indigosol Pink IR is one of batik's synthetic dyes which can pollute the aquatic ecosystem without further processing. For this reason, it is necessary to reduce the concentration of Indigosol Pink IR synthetic dyes before being discharged by an effective method of adsorption using activated carbon. Determination of the optimum adsorption of the Indigosol Pink IR solution was carried out with four parameters, is the contact time (5; 10; 15; 20; 25; 30; 35; 40; 45; 50; 60 minutes), the dose of adsrobents (2.50; 5.00; 7.50; 10.00; 15.00; 17.50; 20.00; 22.50 mg), initial concentrations (20; 30; 40; 50; 60; 80; 100 ppm), and initial pH (2; 3; 4; 5; 6 ; 7; 9; 11; 12). From the results of the research carried triplo and t-test "Paired Two Sample for Means" with deviation <2%, the optimum contact time was 35 minutes and the dose of adsorbent was 10 mg (removal 88.82% + 1.49%), initial concentration was 80ppm (removal 89.47% + 0.22%), and initial pH 3 (removal 95.87% + 0.25%). The optimum adsorption method used produces %removal of 95.87% + 0.25%. The adsorption involves the physical adsorption process with the Freundlich isotherm model.
