Abstract

Tantangan yang dihadapi masyarakat secara global saat ini yaitu permasalahan lingkungan yang salah satunya disebabkan oleh limbah konstruksi. Hampir sebagian besar negara di dunia terutama Asia memproduksi limbah konstruksi yang membebani dan memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Konsep green construction merupakan salah satu solusi permasalahan tersebut yang dimana diharapkan dapat mengembalikan dan menjaga keseimbangan antara lingkungan alami dan buatan. Namun implementasi green construction yang masih terbatas dan belum mencapai tingkat sistem merupakan permasalahan yang perlu menjadi perhatian serta yang paling krusial dari green construction yaitu efek terhadap lingkungan khususnya limbah konstruksi dapat dikatakan belum jelas. Oleh karena itu, tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan konsep green construction terhadap pengurangan limbah konstruksi. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan melalui pengembangan model sistem dinamik untuk menganalisa hubungan antar variabel green construction maupun pengaruh dari penerapannya terhadap pengurangan limbah konstruksi. Pengembangan model sistem dinamik penelitian ini dibagi dalam beberapa tahapan mulai dari penyusunan causal loop diagram, stock flow diagram dan skenario. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuisioner dan melakukan wawancara kepada responden yang terdiri dari project manager, site manager, konsultan desain dan konsultan pengawas. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan ada empat variabel/faktor utama dan sepuluh indikator yang mempengaruhi tingkat penerapan green construction dalam hubungannya dengan pengurangan limbah konstruksi. Keempat variabel utama tersebut adalah perencanaan dan penjadwalan proyek, peralatan dan teknologi konstruksi, sumber dan siklus material, dan manajemen lingkungan proyek konstruksi. Hasil simulasi pada base model memperlihatkan bahwa penerapan green construction mengurangi jumlah limbah konstruksi sebesar 17,703 %, dimana hal ini membuktikan bahwa jumlah limbah konstruksi berkurang sejalan dengan peningkatan penerapan green construction. Pada model skenario struktur yang dikembangkan menunjukkan bahwa metode konstruksi tepat/inovatif memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penerapan green construction dalam mengurangi jumlah limbah konstruksi yaitu sebesar 36,453 %.

The challenges facing society globally today are environmental problems, one of which is caused by construction waste. Most of the countries in the world, especially Asia, produce construction waste which is a burden and has a negative impact on the environment. The concept of green construction is one of the solutions to these problems which are expected to restore and maintain a balance between the natural and artificial environment. However, the implementation of green construction which is still limited and has not yet reached the system level is an issue that needs attention and the most crucial part of green construction is that the effect on the environment, especially construction waste, is unclear. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to find out how the influence of the application of the concept of green construction to the reduction of construction waste. The method used in this study was an approach through developing a dynamic system model to analyze the relationship between green construction variables and the effect of their application on reducing construction waste. The development of a dynamic system model of this research was divided into several stages starting from the preparation of causal loop diagrams, stock flow diagrams and scenarios. Research data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews with respondents consisting of project managers, site managers, design consultants and supervisor consultants. The results of this study indicated that there were four main variables and ten indicators that influence the level of green construction implementation in relation to the reduction of construction waste. The four main variables were project planning and scheduling, construction equipment and technology, material sources and cycles, and environmental management of construction projects. The simulation results on the base model showed that the application of green construction reduced the amount of construction waste by 17.703%, which proved that the amount of construction waste decreased in line with the increased application of green construction. The structural scenario model developed showed that the appropriate / innovative construction method has a significant influence on the application of green construction in reducing the amount of construction waste that was equal to 36.453%.
