Abstract

Sungai Kalimas merupakan salah satu anak Sungai Surabaya. Sesuai dengan peruntukkannya, kualitas air Sungai Kalimas harus memenuhi klasifikasi mutu air kelas II menurut Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2001. Metoda STORET (Storage dan Retrieval) yang dikembangkan oleh Enviromental Protection Agency (EPA-USA), merupakan salah satu metoda untuk menentukan status mutu air yang umum digunakan sebagai pangkalan data kualitas air, biologi, dan fisik. IP atau Indeks Pencemar adalah indeks yang berkaitan dengan senyawa pencemar pada suatu peruntukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan status mutu air sungai Kalimas dengan metode STORET dan IP. Parameter yang diteliti adalah parameter fisika dan kimia saja, yaitu; suhu, pH, BOD, COD, TSS dan MBAS sebagai deterjen. Penelitian dilakukan pada tiga segmen, empat titik, dan berjalan selama tujuh hari untuk membentuk time series. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan berdasarkan SNI 6989.57:2008. Hasil uji laboratorium menunjukan bahwa sungai Kalimas tidak memenuhi persyaratan baku mutu kelas II untuk parameter BOD, MBAS dan TSS. Hasil analisa STORET menyatakan bahwa sungai Kalimas tercemar sedang, sedangkan hasil analisa IP menunjukan bahwa sungai Kalimas tercemar ringan.

Kalimas river is one of the tributaries of Surabaya river. In accordance with its designation, the water quality of Kalimas river must meet the class II water quality classification according to Government Regulation No. 82/2001. Water quality monitoring is carried out with the aim of determining the quality status of river water which is the basis for evaluating the environmental influences around the river basin and providing recommendations for decision makers based on water quality status. Determination of water quality status in this study using the STORET method and Pollutant Index (IP) as stipulated in the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 115/2003 concerning Guidelines for Determining the Status of Water Quality. Parameters analyzed included TSS, temperature, pH, BOD, COD and detergent (MBAS). The research segment is divided into 3 segments with 4 monitoring points, namely Tretek Bungkuk bridge – Jl. Bung Tomo (Segment I), Jl. Bung Tomo – Karimun Jawa bridge (Segment II), Karimun Jawa bridge – Yos Sudarso bridge (Segment III). Sampling at each point was carried out for 7 consecutive days to obtain time series data. The results of the river water quality test showed that TSS, BOD, and detergent (MBAS) concentration in some water samples were above the quality standard. TSS concentration reached to 130 mg/L with a quality standard of 50 mg/L, BOD reached 13 mg/L with a quality standard of 3 mg/L, and detergent reaching 0,76 mg/L with a quality standard of 0,2 mg/L. while the temperature and pH of water at all points were still within the permissible range. The results of the analysis shows the STORET score at the analysis show the STORET score at the first point (0 km) of -20, at the second point (1 km) of -20, at the third point (3 km) of -24, and at the fourth point (4,8 km) of -24. Because the STORET score at all points was in range of -11 to -30, the Kalimas river water quality stated as moderately polluted. However, the results of calculations using the Pollutant Index method showed the Pollutan Index scores at each point in 7 days were 1,2 to 3,26. Because the pollutant index score is in the range of 1 to 5, the Kalimas river quality based on this method was categorized as lightly polluted.
