Abstract

Sumber energi yang tersedia di kota Palu tidak mencukupi untuk kebutuhan kota, kurangnya kesadaran untuk pembangunan yang hemat energi menjadi salah satu perhatian. Potensi angin di kota Palu cukup konstan dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk penghawaan alami. Pembangunan perpustakan di Universitas Tadulako yang hemat energi dituntut untuk memenuhi kenyamanan termal bagi penggunanya dengan pemanfaatan angin. Penghawaan alami akan memberikan sirkulasi udara yang baik di dalam bangunan yang dapat memberikan kenyamanan. Aliran udara dapat mempercepat proses penguapan di permukaan kulit sehingga dapat memberikan kesejukan bagi penghuni bangunan. Namun melihat dari fungsi bangunan perpustakaan, pemanfaatan angin sebagai penghawaan alami dapat mempengaruhi kegiatan perpustakaan sehingga perlu adanya pengolahan fasad, bentuk dan orientasi serta penataan ruang dalam bangunan. Perumusan perpustakaan Universitas Tadulako dengan konsep ruang transisi menjadi tujuan dalam tesis desain ini. Proses perancangan dengan menggunakan force-based method mengacu pada faktor/kualitas yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil perancangan terkait dengan pengelolaan angin untuk mengadaptasi bangunan hemat energi. Ruang transisi ditetapkan menjadi konsep perancangan dengan pengembangan rancangan menjadi konsep-konsep arsitektural. Konsep-konsep arsitektural tersebut selanjutnya diterapkan menjadi rancangan skematik. Hasil penerapan konsep ruang transisi adalah solusi penghawaan alami, dari proses analisis angin diharapkan dapat menetukan pengolahan fasad, bentuk dan orientasi bangunan serta penataan ruang dalam bangunan yang memanfaatkan angin sebagai penghawaan alami dan mempertimbangkan kenyamanan pengguna serta fungsi bangunan perpustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengelolaan angin dengan konsep ruang transisi akan membentuk bangunan perpustakaan hemat energi.

The available energy sources in the city of Palu are insufficient for the needs of the city, needing awareness for energy-efficient development is a concern. The wind potential in Palu is quite constant and can be used for natural ventilation. Library development at Tadulako University which is energy efficient is demanded to fulfill the thermal comfort for its users by utilizing wind. Natural ventilation will provide good air circulation in the building which can provide comfort. Air flow can increase the evaporation process on the surface of the skin so that it can provide coolness to building occupants. But seeing from the library building, managing wind as an air can influence library activities so that it requires facade processing, shape and facilitation and spatial planning within the building. The formulation of the Tadulako university library with the concept of transition space is the goal in this design thesis. The design process using a force-based method chooses which factors or qualities are chosen based on the design results related to wind management to adapt energy-efficient buildings. The transition space is determined to be a design concept by developing a design into an architectural concept. The architectural concepts are then applied to the schematic design. The results of the transition space concept are natural ventilation solutions, wind analysis process is expected to determine the process of facade, shape and construction of buildings as well as spatial planning in buildings that utilize wind as natural ventilation and supported by users and library building functions. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the regulation of the wind with the concept of transition space will make the library building energy efficient.
