Abstract

Jagung merupakan hasil pertanian kedua terbesar setelah beras di Indonesia. Salah satu daerah yang memiliki hasil tani berupa jagung adalah Desa Sumberkedawung, Probolinggo. Umumnya, jagung yang ditanam merupakan jenis jagung burdek karena dianggap bagus untuk dijadikan beras jagung. beras jagung merupakan makanan khas daerah Probolinggo. Rata-rata petani jagung disana mampu menghasilkan 250 kg setiap musim panen. Sebagian dari hasil panen akan disimpan dan sisanya diselep untuk dijual ke pasar. Selain itu, penduduk di Desa Sumberkedawung memiliki usaha selain bertani yaitu beternak. Hewan ternak yang biasa dipelihara adalah ayam, sapi, dan kambing. Cara pengolahan hasil panen jagung para petani disana masih primitive dengan cara memipil secara manual lalu diselep . Limbah dari pengolahan jagung tersebut berupa bonggol jagung, kurang dimanfaatkan. Umumnya, bonggol akan dibuang begitu saja atau ditampung oleh penjual ikan asap untuk dijadikan bahan bakar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, sangat disayangkan jika pengolahan hasil panen jagung tidak dioptimalkan mengingat hampir seluruh bagian dari jagung dapat dimanfaatkan. Perancangan mesin multifungsi ini dilakukan untuk membantu petani di daerah tersebut agar mampu mengolah hasil panen jagung dengan optimal. Mesin yang dirancang memiliki dua fungsi yang digabungkan, yaitu memipil jagung dan menghancurkan bonggol. Perancangan diwali dengan pengujian kondisi jagung yang tepat untuk dipipil. Kemudian, mencari besar gaya pipilan dan gaya potong bonggol. Berdasarkan hasil pengujin tersebut, diracang mesin multifungsi tersebut. Setelah itu, barulah dirancang sesuai dengan prinsip ergonomi dengan mempertimbangkan kenyamanan dan keamanan operator saat melakukan proses pengolahan. Hasil yang didapatkan dari perancangan tersebut adalah daya motor penggerak sebesar 5,5 hp dengan dimensi keseluruhan mesin 74 x 52.4 x 120 cm. Mesin memiliki tiga poros, yaitu poros pada motor, pemipil, dan pemotong bonggol. Selain itu, mesin memiliki tiga pulley untuk menyalurkan daya dari motor, yaitu double-pulley pada motor, single-pulley pada pemipil dan pemotong bonggol. Kemudian, hasil perhitungan ergonomi dari perancangan ini sebesar 3 yang berarti mesin cukup baik untuk digunakan dalam jangka waktu lama. Namun, masih dapat dilakukan inspeksi ulang agar menjadi mesin yang lebih baik lagi.

Corn is the second biggest agricultural product after the rice in Indonesia. One of the region which has agricultural output in the form of corn is Desa Sumberkedawung, Probolinggo. Generally, the type of corn planted is burdek because it is considered good for corn rice. Corn rice is a typicall food of the Probolinggo region. The average corn farmer is able to produce 250 kg each harvest season. A portion of the harvest will be saved and the other will be sold to the market. In addition, residents in Desa Sumberkedawung have a business other than farming, namely raising livestock. Livestock that are usually raised are chikens, cows, and goats. The farmers proceed the corn harvest still primitively, by manually shredding then maized. The waste from the processing corn in the form of corncobs, is underutilized. Generally, tubers will be thrown away or accommodated by some fish sellers to be used as fuel. Based on this, it is very unfortunate if the processing of corn yields is not optimized considering almost all parts of corn can be utilized. The design of this multifunctional machine is done to help farmers in the area to be able to process corn harvests optimally. The machine was designed to have two function combined, namely shredding corn and cobs of cob. The design begins with testing the proper condition of corn for manually shredding. Then, look for the great shell style and gouge cut style. Based on the results of the test, the multifunctional machine was designed. After that, it is designed according to the principle of ergonomics by considering operator comfort and safety when processing. The results obtained from the design are a motor power of 5.5 hp with overall dimensions of the machine 74 x 52.4 x 120 cm. the machine has three shafts, which are the shaft on the motor, the sheller, and the cob. In addition, the machine has three pulleys to deliver power from the motor, namely double-pulley on the motor, single-pulley on the sheller and cob. Then, the ergonomics calculation result from this design is 3, It’s means that the machine is good for longtime uses. But, the machine still can be inspected for more better feature.
