Abstract

World nickel production continues to increase 10 times more than in 1950, making nickel reserves in nature continue to decline. The leaching process can re-extract metals, from unused metals into metals with good purity so that they can be reused into production raw materials. Therefore, it is necessary to have a literature review. A review on the effect of process variations that affect leaching using sulfuric acid media such as temperature, particle size, acid concentration and stirring speed on the yield of Ni yield and analysis of the effects of each variation. In the research, the sample was tested using XRD and XRF testing to determine the composition of the sample. Then the leaching process is carried out for several hours. The sample of the leaching solution was taken and tested using the ICP-OES test to determine the nickel extraction results obtained. The results of the review show that the use of high temperatures will increase the yield of nickel extraction, the best Ni yield results are 99%, in the variation of particle size it is found that a decrease in particle size can increase Ni extraction with the best results by 100%, for the effect of acid concentration it is known that an increase in acid concentration will increase nickel extraction with the best yield of 97%, and for the effect of the stirring speed, the increase in speed will increase nickel extraction with the best yield of 94%
