Abstract

===========================
Propulsion innovation on fast patrol boat and warships is one of the high technology developments. One of them is research about propulsion systems on 60 meter Patrol Boats. In previous studies, an open water test was carried out on the Symmetrical Blade Propeller design. However, in the test instrumentation problems sometimes arise, especially in the data records and vibrations in the carriage that cause noise in data acquisition. So it is needed an analysis using the Computational Fluid Dynamics method. Then it aims to analyze the use of symmetrical blade propellers on 60m Patrol Boats. This research was carried out through several stages, which began with Symmetrical Blade Propeller 3D modeling which will be performed an open water simulation using Computational Fluid Dynamics. Then the simulation results will be used to make the KT - KQ - J diagram which will be used to calculate the 60m Patrol Boat Engine Propeller Matching. So from these results it is known that the Symetrical Blade Propeller is able to drive the 60m Patrol Boat at a predetermined speed.
