Abstract

Oil and gas reserves in Indonesia are still classified as large. In March 2019, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ignasius Jonan, inaugurated the additional supply of Kangean Energy's Terang Sirasun Batur’s (TSB) gas field, owned by Kangean Energy. With the addition of these drilling blocks, ships are needed to fulfill the logistics needs of the ship and the crew. In this study, the researchers innovated the ships by adding fuel cells as a source of propulsionto drive ships. The fuel used in this fuel cell is hydrogen gas. Adding hydrogen as fuel can reduce fuel costs. In addition, hydrogen gas is also proven to only produce water as its output. The technical analysis discussed was to determining the main size of the ship by sketch, the coefficient of the ship’s shape using formula, resistance & propulsion of the ship using Holtrop method, weight & center of gravity, trim, freeboard, and the stability of the ship using formula and maxsurf software. The main dimensions of the ship are Lpp = 43.2 m, B = 11.3 m, H = 4 m, and T = 2.8 m. Economic analysis is carried out to calculate the cost of the ship’s construction, operational costs, and also the feasibility of investment. In terms of economics, investment in shipbuilding is very feasible to run with a BEP value of Rp. 113.494.789.274, NPV Rp 28.137.119.108, PI 1.51907,, IRR 18.25 %, Payback Period 5,42 years with a rental price of Rp. 293.269.231 per string for the type of voyage charter rental, and for the type of time charter rental having a BEP value of Rp. 151.954.718.010, NPV Rp. 32.532.731.322, PI 1.60016, IRR 19,49 %, Payback Period 5,26 years with a rental price of Rp 1.439.685.315 per month.
