Abstract
Rumah sakit bukan hanya sebagai sebuah bangunan yang memberikan pelayanan kesehatan namun juga menawarkan keindahan dan kenyamanan dalam rancangan lingkungan fisiknya. Lingkungan fisik harus dirancang untuk mendukung kebutuhan dan preferensi konsumen serta penyedia layanan kesehatan secara bersama. Ruang rawat inap sebagai tempat pemulihan pasien menjadi bagian yang perlu dicermati dalam proses perencanaan dan perancangan rumah sakit. Interior ruang rawat inap yang sehat dan menyenangkan dalam aspek psikologis dan fisiologis akan membantu proses pemulihan pasien.
Agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kesehatan disuatu daerah, rumah sakit umum daerah harus mampu bersaing dengan rumah sakit swasta, terutama menghadapi pesatnya peningkatan teknologi bidang pelayanan kesehatan yang di ikuti dengan budaya masyarakat Caruban dan sekitarnya. Sebagai rumah sakit tipe C, RSUD Caruban melayani fasilitas yang cukup banyak. Hal ini menyebabkan kondisi rumah sakit selalu dalam keadaan ramai dan penuh dengan berbagai aktivitas.
Healing environment pendekatan terapi yang memadukan unsur alam, indra dan psikologi. Perpaduan ketiga unsur healing environment dalam desain interior dan eksterior merupakan solusi dalam mengatasi masalah stres dan ketidak nyamanan pasien, keluarga maupun staf pada saat berada dalam rumah sakit. Desain healing environment merupakan suatu desain lingkup terapi yang dirancang untuk membantu proses pemulihan pasien secara psikologis akibat rasa cemas, terganggu akibat banyaknya aktivitas di rumah sakit. Desain interior rumah sakit yang baik dapat meningkatkan produktifitas tenaga medis dan mendukung psikologis pasien dan keluarga pasien.

The hospital is not only a building that provides health services but also offers beauty and comfort in the design of its physical environment. The physical environment must be designed to support the needs and preferences of consumers and health care providers together. Inpatient room as a place to recover patients becomes a part that needs to be observed in the planning and designing of the house. The interior of a healthy and pleasant inpatient room in psychological and physiological aspects will help the patient's recovery process.
In order to meet the health needs of a region, regional public hospitals must be able to compete with private hospitals, especially in the face of the rapid increase in technology in the field of health services followed by the culture of the Caruban community and its surroundings. As a type C hospital, Caruban Hospital serves quite a lot of facilities. This causes the condition of the hospital to be always crowded and full of various activities.
Healing environment is a therapeutic approach that combines elements of nature, senses and psychology. The combination of the three elements of healing environment in interior and exterior design is a solution to overcome the problems of stress and discomfort of patients, families and staff while in the hospital. The healing environment design is an environmental therapy design designed to help the patient's recovery process psychologically due to anxiety, disrupted due to the many activities in the hospital. A good hospital interior design can increase the productivity of medical personnel and support the psychological patient and family of patients.
