Abstract
Umumnya kondisi iklim tropis lembab di Indonesia memiliki permasalahan berupa tingkat temperatur dan kelembaban udara yang tinggi. Namun, di daerah tertentu seperti Desa Ranupane yang terletak di dataran tinggi tropis lembab, memiliki permasalahan lain berupa cold discomfort atau underheating hampir sepanjang hari. Oleh karena itu, rumah tinggal yang berada di dataran tinggi tropis lembab, membutuhkan kinerja termal bangunan yang dapat menahan panas di dalam bangunan, khususnya pada waktu-waktu kritis (malam dan pagi hari). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi permasalahan dan mengoptimasi kinerja termal dengan memperhatikan material selubung bangunan pada rumah tinggal di dataran tinggi tropis lembab.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian simulasi dengan menggunakan taktik penelitian lapangan (observasi) dan simulasi menggunakan program ARCHIPAK 5.1. Penelitian lapangan bertujuan untuk melakukan pengukuran elemen iklim di 4 model rumah tinggal modern di Desa Ranupane yang kemudian dijadikan model based-case simulasi. Penelitian simulasi dilakukan untuk mendapatkan optimasi kinerja termal bangunan dari kombinasi penggunaan material. Empat model based-case dipilih satu model yang memiliki kinerja termal terbaik dan juga mewakili karakteristik bentuk rumah tinggal pada umumnya di Desa Ranupane. Tahap terakhir dilakukan penelitian simulasi untuk mendapatkan optimasi kinerja termal dengan menggunakan kombinasi material dan insulasi selubung bangunan yang memiliki thermal properties untuk daerah dataran tinggi. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan model bangunan yang menghasilkan kinerja termal dengan nilai temperatur indoor (Ti) yang mencapai tingkat kenyamanan mendekati area ambang temperatur netral (Tn) Desa Ranupane.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rumah di Desa Ranupane umumnya belum mampu menghasilkan kondisi indoor yang nyaman selama kurun waktu 24 jam. Kondisi kritis terjadi pada pukul 00:00 hingga pukul 05:00 dan kondisi yang dianggap paling nyaman terjadi siang hari sekitar pukul 13:00. Dengan temperatur minimum rata-rata 12,4°C dan temperatur maksimum rata-rata 19,7°C. Sedangkan dari hasil penelitian simulasi didapatkan model optimum kinerja termal dengan kombinasi selubung material menggunakan genteng pelana dengan kemiringan 40° dan penggabungan material dinding berupa batako, insulasi EPS, bata merah, dan plester dengan total ketebalan ± 25 cm.

Indonesia with humid tropical climate conditions has problems in the form of high temperature and humidity levels. However, certain areas such as Ranupane Village which is located in the humid tropical highlands, has other problems such as cold discomfort that lasted most of the day. Therefore, houses that are located in humid tropical highlands, require building thermal performance that may withstand the heat inside the building, especially at critical times (night and morning times). This research aims to study and to optimize the thermal performance condition of building materials in houses in the humid tropical highlands.
This research was conducted with a field study followed by simulation research. The field study is carried out by collecting building data and climate elements of four houses which are determined as based-case models in Ranupane Village for simulation research. The results of the field measurement analysis are then verified and validated using the ARCHIPAK 5.1 program to see the thermal performance trends of the four based-case models. Afterward, one model of 4 based-case models is selected that has the best thermal performance and represents the characteristics of housing tyoe generally in Ranupane Village. Lastly, the last stage is doing optimazion simulation for selected based-case model using thermal properties combination of materials and building envelope insulations that are suitable for highland area. Simulation research aims to get a building model that has thermal performance with indoor temperature (Ti) values that reach a comfort level close to the neutral temperature threshold area (Tn) of Ranupane Village.
The results of this study indicate that houses in Ranupane Village are generally not able to meet indoor thermal comfort conditions for 24 hours. Yet, the presence of a fireplace is only able to provide temporary thermal comfort. The results of the optimization study on the selected based-case model show that the best combination of material envelope is a tile roof with a slope of 40° and a combination of wall materials in the form of bricks, EPS insulation, red brick, and plaster with a total thickness of ± 25 cm.
