Abstract
Gondang Dam is located in Gondang Hamlet, Gempolan Village, Kerjo District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The Gondang Dam was built to overcome problems that often occur around the Gondang Dam such as drought during the dry season and experiencing flooding during the rainy season and to prosper the people around the Gondang Dam who mostly work as farmers so they really need enough water to irrigate their rice fields. .
Gondang Dam is a mixed fill type dam with an upright waterproof core. In the implementation of the construction of the Gondang Dam, there are several types of work, among others, preparatory work and implementation facilities, evasion work, foundation excavation work, heap counstruction, and spillway construction work.
In the Gondang Dam bodies, there are several zones, namely the impermeable core zone, the filter zone, the random fill zone, and the rip rap zone. Therefore, the implementation method used is gradual hoarding.
With the construction of the Gondang Dam, it is hoped that it can meet the needs of irrigation water covering an area of 4,680 hectares, providing raw water 200 liters / second, hydropower, and as a flood reduction.
