Abstract
Monomer asam tereftalat berhasil diperoleh dari daur ulang
(depolimerisasi) limbah plastik polietilen tereftalat (PET).

Terephthalic acid (TPA) sucsesfuly produced from
depolimerization of Poly Etylen Terephthalic (PET) using
hydrolysis process. The process used the nitric acid 13,5 M as a solvent and catalysator at various temperatures 60 until 100oC o with interval 10C. Thermaximum yield obtain was 75,7 % at o 100C. The product predicted as a TPA was analyzed with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Thermogravimetric Analyzis (TGA), dan Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
