Abstract

Robotic Arm is a tool which is used widely in industrial sector for production tools or for moving product. Robotic arm is also used for domestic services as part of housemaid robot. Robotic arm has a lot of advantages than mobile robot, such as repetitive precisive movement, high efficiency, and ability to carry huge loads in narrow spaces. Robotic arm movement depends on the number of degree of freedom (dof). The movement of robotic arm can be controlled by using computer vision technology where the end-effector of robotic arm is directed to object which caught by the camera. In this Final Project, Robotic Arm will be implemented as Robotic Arm Food Feeder to help people who has difficulty to do mechanical movement of feeding such as patient on accident or elderly. This robot applies position estimation of human mouth using computer vision in order to direct the end effector of robotic arm to the front of the mouth. The result of this research is that the robot arm can direct the spoon to the front of the mouth by applying the inverse kinematic method of the coordinates of the mouth position which has been obtained with a small error rate of 0.88 - 1.52 cm. The shape of the spoon will affect the type of food that fits in the robotic arm system. In this study, the spoon used was compatible with the type of food that doesn’t contain water such as rice and fruit
