Abstract

Tugas akhir ini adalah sebagai salah satu bentuk penelitian tentang kualitas fly ash di wilayah Jawa Timur. Sampel fly ash yang diperoleh sebanyak 16 sampel dari 6 perusahaan. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan beberapa uji untuk mengetahui kualitas dari fly ash, uji tersebut meliputi uji fisik, uji kimia serta uji mekanik.Uji fisik yang dilakukan terhadap fly ash diantaranya uji kadar air, kerugian akibat pengapian, kehalusan, konsistensi normal, berat jenis dan spesific surface area. Untuk uji kimia dilakukan uji X-Ray Difractometer, X-Ray Fluorossence serta soluble dari fly ash tersebut. Sementara itu untuk pengujian mekanik dilakukan dengan membuat mortar dan pasta sebanyak 6 metode yang berbahan campuran fly ash yang kemudian diuji tekan, hasil uji tekan tersebut akan dibandingkan dengan mortar dan pasta yang berbahan semen murni sehingga diperoleh indeks kuat tekannya (SAI).Dari hasil uji fisik, kimia, serta mekanik tersebut didapatkan hubungan dari setiap sifat yang dimiliki fly ash. Didapatkan bahwa uji fisik seperti kehalusan dan sifat fisik lainnya mempengaruhi kuat tekan. Tetapi, prosentase CaO dan prosentase soluble fly ash juga mempengaruhi sifat mekaniknya. Dari uji mekanik yang telah dilakukan direkomendasikan memakai metode 2 sesuai ASTM C 311-2. dan Metode 1.

This research is conducting to quality of fly ash in East Java. Samples of fly ash obtained as many as 16 samples fly ash have been examined from 6 companies This research there are several tests have been conducted to determine the quality of fly ash. The test included physical testing, chemical testing and mechanical testing for mortar and pasta. Physical testing was including moisture content, loss of ignition, fineness, consistency normal, specific gravity and the specific surface area. Chemical characterization has also analyzed for X-Ray Difractometer, X-Ray Fluorossence and soluble test of the fly ash. Meanwhile for the mechanical testing was performedfor sylinderical specimens. The specimenswith opc mixed with fly ash as cement substitutias. There are six methods to make all specimens defende on some standards and purposes. At compressive strength test specific age was conducted to compare all the specimens aith the control.It was shown that the physical properties was the key factor to lead the compressive strength rather than the chemical properties. However CaO content and soluble of fly ash play an important role to enhance the mechanical properties. It recommended to use method no.2 according to ASTM C311-02 and methods no.1.
