Abstract
Sistem ekonomi sirkular sudah lama dipraktikkan oleh masyarakat Kalurahan Panggungharjo melalui praktik pekarangan. Sistem ini diterapkan pada pengelolaan pekarangan dengan menggunakan pengetahuan dan adat istiadat lokal. Pekarangan rumah memiliki sejumlah manfaat antara lain sebagai apotek hidup, warung hidup, dan lumbung hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan implementasi ekonomi sirkular pada pekarangan serta tantangan dan upaya apa saja yang dapat dilakukan dalam melestarikan praktik tersebut. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) serta observasi di lokasi penelitian kepada informan yang ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Peneliti menggunakan teori ekonomi sirkular, teori pembangunan berkelanjutan, dan teori pengetahuan lokal untuk menganalisa bukti-bukti yang telah dikumpulkan melalui metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan analisa SWOT untuk pada tahap akhir disusun saran perencanaan startegi berdasarkan data yang telah dianalisis. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa sistem ekonomi sirkular berbasis pengetahuan lokal pada pekarangan mendatangkan keuntungan baik dari sisi terpenuhnya kebutuhan masyarakat maupun kelestarian lingkungan tempat tinggal. Namun adanya alih fungsi lahan, tidak adanya regenerasi pengetahuan lokal dari generasi-generasi sebelumnya membuat praktik pekarangan mulai berkurang di masyarakat.

The circular economy system has long been practiced by the people of Kalurahan Panggungharjo through home garden practices. This system is applied to yard management using local knowledge and customs. Home garden have a number of benefits, including as a living pharmacy, living stalls, and living barns. This study aims to describe the implementation of a circular economy in the yard as well as what challenges and efforts can be made in preserving the practice. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations at the research site to informants determined by purposive sampling method. Researchers use circular economy theory, sustainable development theory, and local knowledge theory to analyze evidence that has been collected through descriptive qualitative research methods and SWOT analysis to at the final stage of formulating strategic planning suggestions based on the data that has been analyzed. This research resulted in the conclusion that a circular economy system based on local knowledge in the home garden brings benefits both in terms of meeting the needs of the community and the sustainability of the living environment. However, the existence of land use change, the absence of regeneration of local knowledge from previous generations made home garden practices begin to decrease in the community.
