Abstract

Renewable Energy is a solution for clean and efficient electricity. In the operating system, photovoltaic cells and wind turbines can generate electricity by utilizing renewable energy sources. The reliability of the hybrid photovoltaic system and wind turbine will be high and the energy generated will also be greater. There are several approaches taken to create an off-grid electrical system. This Photovoltaic Cell – Wind Turbine hybrid system will later utilize solar and wind energy so as to make this system reliable in operation which will work together to meet electricity needs. The constraints that occur with the use of renewable energy are the lack of stable power quality and the limited range of voltage increases when using only one converter, so that modification of the converter configuration has become one of the preferred solutions to this problem. It requires an additional converter that is installed in pairs, which in addition to smoothing the input, can also provide a higher output voltage. In this research a solution will be proposed to solve the problem of achieving the desired voltage and power stability by adding a dual DC-DC converter configuration, so as to increase the production of electrical energy, especially in the field of renewable energy. In this system, the intermittent irradiance increases the AC side voltage according to low voltage standards (198 V to 242 V), there is a loss of about 10% (with efficiency from 89% to 91%) after using a double converter, and with a double amplification ratio converter by 4.9x to 5.3x. In addition, this study also shows that when the irradiance is high, the battery will be supplied with power from photovoltaic cells and wind turbines, but when the irradiance is low, the battery will supply power to help meet the load requirements.
