Abstract

Glucomannan flour factory is carried out through a mechanical and chemical purification process. The glucomannan flour factory is planned to operate with a capacity of 3,000 tonnes/year for 330 days per year. This factory is expected to produce glucomannan flour to meet domestic demand. The raw materials used in the manufacture of glucomannan flour factories are porang chips or processed products from porang tubers. This factory is planned to be built in Madiun Regency, East Java, this has been considered through several aspects, one of which is the availability of raw materials Mechanical and chemical purification was carried out at 30°C and at 1 atm pressure using a stirred tank. From this factory economic evaluation study, it was concluded that the estimated capital (CAPEX) was IDR313.263.377.108; operational costs (OPEX) of IDR359.811.485/ton product. Based on the economic analysis, it can be concluded that a glucomannan flour plant with a capacity of 3,000 tons/year is low risk and economically viable. Based on the operating conditions of the raw material and product characteristics, the glucomannan flour factory from porang chips is classified as a low risk factory. Based on the economic analysis of this factory, the rate of return on investment (IRR) was obtained at 18,8% with a loan interest of 8% per year. Payback period (POT) for 3 years. The NPV obtained is also positive, namely IDR164.415.903.554. From the feasibility analysis data above, it is concluded that this factory is profitable and feasible to establish.
