Abstract

Permainan tradisional layang-layang memiliki sejarah yang menarik dan menjadi
bagian dari budaya Indonesia yang harus dilestarikan. Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia,
salah satu museum swasta di Jakarta Selatan, didirikan sejak tahun 2003 untuk mewujudkan
gerakan pelestarian tersebut. Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia menghadapi tantangan terkait
kurangnya minat masyarakat untuk mengunjungi museum sebagai sarana rekreasi dan kondisi
dari Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia yang belum memberikan wawasan mengenai layanglayang secara optimal. Melalui metode Interior Design Thinking, didapatkan kajian solusi
mengenai pengembangan desain interior Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia, yaitu melalui
konsep Edutainment. Konsep Edutainment mengedepankan penyampaian yang interaktif
dengan menekankan keterlibatan pengunjung dan penyampaian yang informatif, sehingga
pengunjung dapat teredukasi dengan optimal. Dengan demikian, Museum Layang-Layang
Indonesia tidak hanya menjadi sarana edukasi non-formal yang baik, tetapi juga menjadi sarana
rekreasi yang menyenangkan dan berkesan.

The traditional kite game has an interesting history and is part of Indonesian culture that
must be preserved. The Indonesian Kite Museum, a private museum in South Jakarta, was
founded in 2003 to realize this conservation movement. The Indonesian Kite Museum faces
challenges related to the lack of public interest in visiting the museum as a means of recreation
and the condition of the Indonesian Kite Museum that has not optimally provided insight into
kites. Through the Interior Design Thinking method, a solution study was obtained regarding
the development of the interior design of the Indonesian Kite Museum, namely through the
Edutainment concept. The Edutainment concept promotes interactive delivery by emphasizing
visitor involvement and informative delivery, so that visitors can be optimally educated. Thus,
the Indonesian Kite Museum is not only a good non-formal educational facility, but also a fun
and memorable recreational facility.
