Abstract
Pariwisata merupakan salah satu kegiatan ekonomi yang tumbuh paling cepat di Zanzibar. Kepulauan ini terletak di sebelah timur pesisir Afrika, yang termasuk dalam wilayah Republik Tanzania. Zanzibar sendiri terkenal dengan pantai tropisnya yang spektakuler serta kekayaan hasil laut dan terumbu karangnya, dikombinasikan dengan warisan budaya yang kaya, membuat Zanzibar menjadi tujuan wisata yang unik. Dengan banyaknya potensi pengembangan pariwisata di Zanzibar, maka banyak pengunjung internasional yang berdatangan dan membutuhkan akomodasi berupa penginapan atau tempat tinggal sementara. Oleh karena itu, industri perhotelan menjadi potensi ekonomi yang strategis karena dibutuhkannya penginapan yang juga mencukupi kebutuhan pengunjung internasional. Shirazi Resort and Villas by NewMark Hotels merupakan salah satu bagian dari megaproyek Blue Amber Zanzibar, dengan visi untuk menjadi destinasi wisata dunia berkelanjutan. Melalui tahapan metodologi Design Thinking, ditemukan konsep perancangan interior Shirazi Resort and Villas yang dilatar belakangi oleh rencana perwujudan visi hotel yaitu memberikan pengalaman terhadap pengunjung dengan penghormatan terhadap kebudayaan dan sejarah unik Zanzibar. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan membangun impresi pengunjung Shirazi Resort and Villas sebagai akomodasi wisata mewah.

Tourism is one of the fastest economic activities that growth in Zanzibar. This archipelago is located on the east coast of Africa, which is part of the Republic of Tanzania. Zanzibar is known for its spectacular tropical beaches and its wealth marine and coral reefs, and with its rich cultural heritage, made Zanzibar a unique tourist destination. With so much tourism potential in Zanzibar, many international visitors are arrive and require accommodation such as lodging or temporary housing. Therefore, the hotel industry becomes a strategic economic potential because of the requirements that meets the needs of international visitors. Shirazi Resort and Villas by NewMark Hotels is a part of Blue Amber Zanzibar’s megaproject, with a vision to become a sustainable world class tourism destination. Through the stages of the Design Thinking methodology, the concept of interior design Shirazi Resort and Villas was discovered, which was based on the plan to realize the hotel's vision, namely to provide an experience for visitors which pays homage to the unique culture and history of Zanzibar. This final project aims to build the impression of visitor’s Shirazi Resort and Villas as a luxury tourism accommodation.
