Abstract
Pengembangan industri kimia diterapkan sebagai upaya untuk mengurangi jumlah impor dan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nasional masyarakat Indonesia terhadap bahan-bahan yang dibutuhkan. Dengan adanya pengembangan di dunia industri kimia, Indoensia diharapkan dapat menjadi negara yang mandiri untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan penduduknya tanpa bergantung pada industri luar negeri. Salah satu industri yang perlu dikembangkan di Indonesia adalah pigmen besi oksida. Permintaan pigmen besi oksida secara global di industri konstruksi, cat, dan plastik mengalami peningkatan sehingga dapat mendorong pertumbuhan pasar selama delapan tahun ke depan, dimana pangsa pasar pigmen besi oksida global meningkat sebesar 4,7% dari tahun ke tahun.
Pabrik Pigmen Besi Oksida dari Besi Oksida yang berasal dari limbah direncanakan mulai dibangun pada tahun 2023 dengan kapasitas 42.500 ton/tahun. Pabrik pigmen menggunakan bahan baku yang berasal dari produk samping PT. Indonesia Chemical Alumina (ICA) sehingga lokasi yang dipilih adalah di dekat PT. ICA yaitu di Tayan, Kalimantan Barat. Pabrik pigmen besi oksida yang didirikan akan beroperasi selama 330 hari selama satu tahun. Proses produksi akan dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap yaitu pre-treatnent, presipitasi, filtrasi, kalsinasi, milling, dan screening.
Pabrik pigmen besi oksida yang didirikankan membutuhkan capital expenditure (CAPEX) Rp 892.239.834.148,76 dan memiliki operating expenditure (OPEX) Rp 1.613.594.407.586,24 dengan IRR sebesar 12,91% dan waktu pengembalian modal selama 5 Tahun 8 Bulan. Sehingga dari analisa yang didapat bahwa pabrik pigmen besi oksida ini layak dididrikan dari segi teknikal maupun dari segi finansial sangat feasible untuk didirikan dan dioperasikan.

The development of the chemical industry is implemented as an effort to reduce imports and meet the national needs of the Indonesian population for necessary materials. With the development in the chemical industry, Indonesia is expected to become self-reliant in fulfilling the needs of its population without depending on foreign industries. One of the industries that needs to be developed in Indonesia is iron oxide pigment. The global demand for iron oxide pigment in the construction, paint, and plastic industries is increasing, which can drive market growth for the next eight years, with the global market share of iron oxide pigment increasing by 4,7% annually.
The Iron Oxide Pigment Factory, which uses iron oxide derived from waste, is planned to commence construction in 2023 with a capacity of 42.500 tons per year. The pigment factory will utilize raw materials sourced from the by-products of PT. Indonesia Chemical Alumina (ICA), hence the selected location near PT. ICA in Tayan, West Kalimantan. The iron oxide pigment factory will operate for 330 days per year. The production process will be divided into several stages, including pre-treatment, precipitation, filtration, calcination, milling, and screening.
The establishment of the iron oxide pigment factory requires a capital expenditure (CAPEX) of Rp 892.239.834.148,76 and has an operating expenditure (OPEX) of Rp 1.613.594.407.586,24, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 12,91% and a payback period of 5 years and 8 month. Therefore, the analysis indicates that the establishment and operation of the iron oxide pigment factory are technically and financially feasible.
