Abstract
Penggunaan kendaraan bermotor pribadi sebagai alat transportasi telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat, termasuk mahasiswa. Namun dengan meningkatnya penggunaan kendaraan bermotor pribadi setiap tahunnya, emisi karbon dioksida juga meningkat yang berkontribusi terhadap perubahan iklim. Studi ini mencoba menganalisis sejauh mana dampak peralihan moda dari kendaraan bermotor pribadi ke iCar terhadap emisi karbon dioksida di Kampus Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) dan mengeksplorasi skenario yang memungkinkan untuk mendukung kampus hijau yang berkelanjutan. Intelligent Car (iCar) adalah transportasi umum baru yang diimplementasikan di Kampus ITS yang tidak hanya menyediakan moda transportasi alternatif di kampus tetapi juga pengoperasian kendaraan bertenaga listrik (EV) yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Lebih lagi, penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengisi celah di mana belum ada penelitian sebelumnya yang mengkaji iCar dan dampaknya terhadap penurunan emisi. Metode analisis yang digunakan meliputi deskriptif statistik, discrete choice model (regresi logistik binomial), dan metode perhitungan emisi IPCC. Hasil menemukan karakteristik frekuensi (fleksibilitas) sepeda motor adalah alasan utama penggunaannya. Emisi karbon dioksida eksisting di kampus ditemukan sebesar 46,6 juta metrik ton CO2 setiap tahunnya. Disimpulkan bahwa frekuensi pengoperasian iCar memberikan kontribusi tertinggi dalam peningkatan probabilitas perpindahan moda dengan peningkatan sebesar 14,52% atau penghematan 6,76 juta metrik ton CO2 per tahun. Selain itu, untuk mencapai target penurunan emisi sebesar 4,56% per tahun dari populasi pengguna sepeda motor di ITS dengan probabilitas perpindahan moda sebesar 31,89%, iCar perlu beroperasi pada frekuensi 15 kali per jam atau dengan headway 4 menit.

The usage of private motorized vehicles as a means of transportation has been a part of society’s everyday life, including college students. However, with the increase of private motorized vehicles usage every year, carbon dioxide emissions also increase which contributes to climate change. This study tries to analyze to what extent the impact of the mode shift from private motorized vehicles to iCar on carbon dioxide emissions in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Campus and explore the possible scenarios to support a sustainable eco campus. Intelligent Car (iCar) is a new public transportation implemented in the campus which not only provides an alternative mode of transportation around the campus but also a more environmentally friendly operation of electric-powered vehicle (EV). Furthermore, this study is trying to fill the gap where no previous studies reviewing iCar and its impact on emission reduction is done. Analysis methods used include statistic descriptive, discrete choice model (binomial logistic regression), and IPCC emission calculation method. Results found the frequency (flexibility) characteristic of motorcycle is the main reason of usage. Existing carbon dioxide emission in the campus was found to be 46,6 million metric tons of CO2 each year. It is concluded that the frequency at which iCar operates contributes the highest to increasing mode shift probability with an increase of 14,52% or saving 6,76 million metric tons of CO2 per year. Additionally, to achieve the emission reduction target of 4,56% per year from the population of motorcycle users in ITS with mode shift probability at 31,89%, iCar needs to operate at a frequency of 15 per hour or a headway of 4 minutes.
