Abstract
Telah dilakukan perancangan small scale vertical axis wind turbine menggunakan buckboost converter yang dilengkapi dengan modified firefly – fuzzy logic controller. Rangkaian buck-boost converter menggunakan komponen kapasitor 220 uF 50 Volt dan 22 uF 50 Volt, induktor sebesar 47 uH 4A, dilengkapi dengan resistor beban 10k Ohm serta IC XL6009E1 yang bekerja sebagai MOSFET dapat menaikkan dan menurunkan tegangan hingga setpoint 15 Volt namun terjadi drop saat dihubungkan dengan baterai hingga kisaran 13,8 Volt. Controlling tegangan output pada buck-boost converter menggunakan logika fuzzy dengan membership function error dari -1 hingga +1 dan tegangan input dengan rentang 0 hingga 50 Volt, serta output nya berupa nilai PWM untuk switching MOSFET. Optimisasi menggunakan algoritma modified firefly dengan parameter optimisasi nya yaitu keteracakan (α) sebesar 0,01; attractiveness (β) sebesar 0,2; jumlah firefly sebanyak 20; dan maksimum iterasi sebanyak 50 dapat menghasilkan error steady state tegangan output pada rentang kluster kecepatan angin 3,1-3,4 m/s; 3,4–3,7; 3,7–4,0 m/s; 4,0–4,3 m/s; dan 4,3–4,7 m/s yaitu sebesar 0.336%; 0.354%; 0.345%; 0.540%; 0.42% dengan rerata daya output nya sebesar 5,98; 7,73; 12,23; 12,4; dan 16,83 Watt dan akumulasi energi output sebesar 38.025,5 Joule atau 0,0105 kWh.

A small scale vertical axis wind turbine has been designed using a DC-DC buck-boost converter with a fuzzy logic controller based on modified firefly optimization algorithm. The buck-boost converter circuit uses 220 uF 50 Volt and 22 uF 50 Volt capacitor components, an inductor 47 uH 4A, equipped with a 10k Ohm load resistor and the XL6009E1 IC which works as a MOSFET can raise and lower the voltage up to a set point of 15 Volts and there is a decrease in voltage when connected to battery up to 13.8 Volts. Output voltage control on the buck-boost converter uses a fuzzy logic system with membership function errors from -1 to +1 and input voltages in the range of 0 to 50 Volts, and the output is PWM value for MOSFET switching. Optimization use modified firefly algorithm with the optimization parameters, namely the randomization constant (α) of 0.01; attractiveness (β) of 0.2; the number of fireflies are 20; and a maximum of 50 iterations can get error steady state on output voltage at various wind speed clusters of 3.1-3.4 m/s; 3.4–3.7; 3.7–4.0 m/s; 4.0–4.3 m/s; and 4.3–4.7 m/s, which is 0.336%; 0.354%; 0.345%; 0.540%; 0.42% with an average output power of 5.98; 7.73; 12.23; 12.4; and 16.83 Watts and gaining output energy 38.025,5 Joule or 0,0105 kWh.
