Abstract

Kabupaten Sumenep merupakan kabupaten yang terletak di ujung timur Pulau Madura, Jawa Timur. Salah satu sektor yang memiliki potensi tinggi di Kabupaten Sumenep adalah sektor pariwisata. Banyak potensi di sektor pariwisata yang terus dikembangkan mulai dari wisata alam, wisata kuliner, wisata konservasi satwa, wisata religi dan wisata budaya. Perkembangan sektor pariwisata di Kabupaten Sumenep ini dapat membuka peluang industri kreatif, khususnya industri souvenir. Hal tersebut menjadi latar belakang penulis untuk membuat desain motif dengan konten wisata Sumenep sebagai penunjang industri souvenir Kabupaten Sumenep. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini meliputi studi literatur, observasi, depth interview, studi eksperimental, pre-test, prototyping dan post-test. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi literatur, kemudian dilakukan depth interview dengan beberapa narasumber untuk menggali informasi dan mendiskusikan mengenai permasalahan yang diangkat oleh penulis dalam perancangan ini. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati secara langsung dan mendokumentasikan objek yang nantinya akan dijadikan bahan konten perancangan ini. Data awal yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dan diolah pada tahap studi eksperimental untuk menghasilkan konsep desain. Output yang dihasilkan dari perancangan ini berupa motif baru yang nantinya akan diaplikasikan pada media souvenir yang ditentukan. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menambah ragam motif dan menjadi salah satu penunjang dalam mengembangkan sektor industri souvenir Kabupaten Sumenep.

Sumenep Regency is a district located at the eastern tip of Madura Island, East Java. One of the sectors with high potential in Sumenep Regency is the tourism sector. Various potentials in tourism, such as natural attractions, culinary tourism, wildlife conservation tourism, religious tourism, and cultural tourism, are continuously being developed. The development of the tourism sector in Sumenep Regency opens opportunities for the creative industry, particularly the souvenir industry. This serves as the background for the author to create a motif design with Sumenep tourism content to support the souvenir industry in Sumenep Regency. The research methods used in this design include literature study, observation, depth interviews, experimental study, pre-test, prototyping, and post-test. Data collection is conducted through literature study, followed by depth interviews with several sources to gather information and discuss the issues raised by the author in this design. Observations are made to directly observe and document objects that will later be used as content materials for this design. The initial data obtained is then analyzed and processed during the experimental study phase to generate design concepts. The output of this design is a new motif that will be applied to the designated souvenir media. This design is expected to enrich the variety of motifs and become one of the supports in developing the souvenir industry sector in Sumenep Regency.
