Abstract

Salah satu kebutuhan dasar manusia dalam menjaga kelangsungan hidup adalah rumah. Pada umumnya, manusia akan memilih rumah yang tidak jauh dari tempat kerja mereka. Hal tersebut dialami oleh warga Kota Surabaya. Bagi penduduk berpenghasilan rendah, dimana mayoritas pekerjaannya berupa faktor informal. Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan menjadikan rumah sebagai tempat tinggal dan ruang bekerja mereka yang informal berada dalam satu hunian. Hadirnya hunian vertikal menjadi salah satu solusi untuk permasalahan kurangnya pasokan rumah di lahan kosong Surabaya yang semakin sempit. Perancang bertujuan membuat desain perancangan hunian vertikal dengan pendekatan livable settlement pada kawasan permukiman padat penduduk di Kota Surabaya. Proses perancangan ini dimulai dari mengumpulkan fakta, mencari permasalahan, menentukan tujuan, menentukan kriteria yang diperlukan dalam perancangan, dan menciptakan konsep. Proses perancangan ini dibantu menggunakan metode kontekstual untuk melihat konteks dari masyarakat yang akan menghuni dengan mengkombinasikan dua hal yang berbeda yaitu ruang sebagai tempat tinggal dan dari segi perilaku warga pendatang Surabaya yang membutuhkan ruang bekerja untuk produktivitas sehari-hari. Hasil eksplorasi desain menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua tipe unit rumah susun diantaranya rumah-kios dan rumah-keluarga. Dua tipe unit rumah susun ini memiliki ketinggian plafon yang berbeda dari biasanya karena adanya penambahan ruang di dalamnya yang menggunakan konsep mezzanine sebagai ruang tidur. Hal tersebut dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan dan aktivitas pengguna sehari-hari. Obyek rancangan ini diharapkan mampu untuk memberikan solusi dan ide desain yang sesuai dengan permasalahan isu yang diangkat dimana nantinya rumah susun ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat tinggal, tetapi bisa juga berfungsi sebagai ruang bekerja dalam satu hunian.

One of the basic human needs in maintaining survival is a house. In general, humans will choose a house that is not far from their place of work. This is experienced by residents of the city of Surabaya. For low-income residents, where the majority of work is in the form of informal factors. This can be overcome by making the house their informal place of residence and workspace in one dwelling. The presence of vertical housing is one of the solutions to the problem of a lack of supply of houses in Surabaya's increasingly narrow vacant land. The designer aims to design a vertical housing design with a livable settlement approach in densely populated residential areas in the city of Surabaya. This design process starts with gathering facts, looking for problems, determining goals, determining the criteria needed in the design, and creating concepts. This design process is assisted by using contextual methods to see the context of the people who will live in it by combining two different things, namely space as a place to live and from the perspective of the behavior of immigrants from Surabaya who need a workspace for daily productivity. The design exploration results show that there are two types of flat units, namely the house-kiosk and the house-family. These two types of flats have different ceiling heights than usual due to the additional space inside which uses the mezzanine concept as a bedroom. It was developed based on the needs and activities of everyday users. The object of this design is expected to be able to provide solutions and design ideas that are in accordance with the issues raised where later this flat will not only function as a residence, but can also function as a workspace in one dwelling.
