Abstract
Kebakaran merupakan sebuah peristiwa reaksi dari tiga unsur yaitu bahan bakar, oksigen diudara, dan panas. Kebakaran dapat terjadi dari hal yang tidak diduga, hal ini mengisyaratkan bahwa potensi bahaya terhadap kebakaran harus dikelola dengan tepat. Sistem fire hydrant merupakan suatu sistem proteksi terhadap bahaya kebakaran pada gedung dengan menggunakan air bertekanan sebagai media proteksinya. Proses instalasi sistem fire hydrant diatur dalam SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) dan NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). Standarisasi tersebut dibuat bertujuan untuk mengurangi kematian, cedera, dan kerugian ekonomi akibat kebakaran. Proyek akhir ini, merupakan perancangan instalasi pompa hydrant pada gedung laboratorium empat lantai perguruan tinggi di Surabaya yang belum mempunyai instalasi hydrant pillar dan instalasi pompa hydrant. Dalam proyek akhir ini, penelitian terdiri dari perencanaan peletakan hydrant pillar disekitar gedung dan perancangan instalasi pompa menggunakan metode analitik dan dikoreksi dengan metode numerik menggunakan software Pipe Flow Expert. Tahapan pada proyek akhir ini meliputi: 1) Membuat denah peletakan hydrant pillar yang sesuai standar SNI dan NFPA, 2) Menghitung Head efektif instalasi pompa secara analitis maupun numerik., 3) Memilih pompa dengan spesifikasi yang sesuai dengan standar dan kondisi di lapangan. Perancangan instalasi proteksi kebakaran pada laboratorium yang sesuai dengan standard SNI/NFPA didapatkan 2 hydrant pillar, instalasi sprinkler dengan jarak antar sprinkler 1,84m. Didapatkan spesifikasi pompa dengan kapasitas sebesar 3795 liter/menit, Head efektif = 75,73 m, daya motor = 67,05 Kwatt, dan NPSHA = 5,66 m.

Fire is an event resulting from the reaction of three elements, namely fuel, oxygen in the air, and heat. Fires can occur unexpectedly, indicating that the potential danger of fire must be managed properly. A fire hydrant system is a protective system against fire hazards in buildings that uses pressurized water as its protection medium. The installation process of the fire hydrant system is regulated by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). These standards are designed to reduce deaths, injuries, and economic losses caused by fires. This final project involves the design of a hydrant pump installation in a four-story laboratory building in Surabaya, Indonesia, which currently does not have a hydrant pillar installation or a hydrant pump installation. In this final project, the research consists of planning the placement of hydrant pillars around the building and designing the pump installation using analytical and numerical methods with the Pipe Flow Expert software. The stages of this final project include: 1) Creating a layout plan for the placement of hydrant pillars according to the SNI and NFPA standards, 2) Calculating the effective head of the pump installation analytically and numerically, 3) Selecting a pump with specifications that comply with the standards and field conditions. The design of the fire protection installation for the laboratory, in accordance with the SNI/NFPA standards, includes 4 hydrant pillars and a sprinkler installation with a distance of 1.84 meters between sprinklers. The pump specifications obtained are as follows: capacity of 3795 liters/minute, effective head of 75.73 meters, motor power of 67.05 kilowatts, and NPSHA (Net Positive Suction Head Available) of 5.66 meters
