Abstract

Termoelektrik menjadi salah satu topik riset yang hangat diperbincangkan di lingkungan fisika dan energi. Dengan konsep dapat mengubah energi panas menjadi energi listrik ataupun sebaliknya, termoelektrik dipercaya dapat menjadi tonggak menuju transisi Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT) terlebih untuk diaplikasikan di tempat yang banyak membuang panas seperti pabrik industri. Salah satu penelitian yang gencar dilakukan adalah mencari material dengan performa termoelektrik yang baik. Indonesia yang memiliki keberlimpahan sumber daya memberikan banyak kemungkinan konfigurasi material, seperti Al2SO. Riset ini menggunakan Al2SO sebagai objek penelitian dimana riset dilakukan secara komputasi yang berbasis pada Density Functional Theory atau DFT. Hasilnya adalah Al2SO memberikan performa termoelektrik yang baik tidak kalah baiknya dibandingkan dengan material serupa dengan performa dalam 3-dimensi lebih baik dari 2-dimensi dengan PF maksimum struktur 3-dimensi dan 2-dimensi berturut-turut yaitu 19,73 mW.m−1 .K−2 dan 4,78 mW.m−1 .K−2. Selain itu, pergantian atom S dan O pada material dapat memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan sehingga Al2SO dapat ditingkatkan performanya dengan mengurangi kadar O pada material.

Thermoelectric is one of kind research topic which discussed recently in field of physics and energy. Thermoelectric, conceptually, can converts energy from heat form to electrical form, and vice versa so thermoelectric has been trusted should be way to renewable energy transition moreover to be applied in place that outcome waste heat such as industrial sector. One type of research done in thermoelectric field is to find material(s) out which perform(s) good thermoelectric effect. Indonesia have a lot and good nature resources so that can give material configuration possibility, i.e . Al2SO. In this research, Al2SO was used as research object which the research conducted computationally based on Density Functional Theory or DFT. The result is Al2SO gives good thermoelectric performance as good as other materials that have been reported which it's performance in 3-dimension structure is better than 2-dimension structure and it's maximum PF in 3-dimension and 2-dimension structure consequetively are 19.73 mW.m-1.K-2 and 4.78 mW.m-1.K-2. Furthermore, S and O atom substitution show a significant impact so Al2SO thermoelectric performance can be enhanced by reduce O consentration in material.
