Abstract

Stroke is a disease that causes hemiplegia which causes paralysis on one side of the body which causes weakening of the ability of the muscles so that it can change a person's ability to walk. Therefore, rehabilitation with electrical stimulus is one of the right ways to restore paralysis or mobility difficulties caused by stroke. By incorporating functional electrical stimulation (FES) and walking movements as well as a sensor system to measure the angle of the walking movement at the ankle joint, it can provide appropriate rehabilitation of walking movements at the lower limb. Stimulation to detect stance and swing in the gait cycle in the Tibialis Anterior and Gastrocnemius muscles can maximize the recovery of muscle weakness. The gait test where the achievement angle at the lower limb joint and the error will be the input of the Fuzzy Logic Controller and produce the FES ankle joint stimulation duration which shows that the restoration of the stance and swing phase of the ankle joint is working. So that the FES stimulation given can work. In the research results, FLC proved to be effective in controlling the ankle joint from cycle-to-cycle control in the process of walking. Using the joint angle parameter is more effective in stimulating the targeted muscles. In the ankle dorsiflexion movement, it can be seen from the Maximum Ankle Dorsiflexion at Swing Phase (MADsw) parameter that the result after stimulation is (5.6 ± 1.06°) which exceeds the target angle of 4.9°. In the ankle plantarflexion movement, it can be seen from the Maximum Ankle Plantarflexion at Swing Phase (MAPsw) parameter that the result after stimulation is (-18.6 ± 1.56°) which exceeds the target angle of -16.4°.
