Abstract

COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the health aspect, including mental health. There are indications that COVID-19 has psychological effects on survivors. Among these impacts, mental disorders associated with post-recovery COVID-19 are depression, anxiety disorders, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In this study, an investigation will be carried out regarding the symptoms of mental disorders that appear in survivors after recovering from COVID-19 using the meta-analysis method. Meta analysis is carried out by collecting several similar studies that have been conducted with different research designs and taken at different times and locations. The results of several studies collected are in the form of binary data summaries that differentiate patient groups based on information on the severity of COVID-19. Meta-analysis is expected to provide differences in results between variables (effect sizes) and estimates of combined effects in the form of odds ratios and variation or heterogeneity of all studies. Estimate the combined effect size by using the fixed effect model and the random effect model. After testing the homogeneity, it is known that there is heterogeneity in each mental disorder, so the random effect model is used. The results of parameter estimation using the random effect model produce a combined effect size for cases of depression, anxiety, and PTSD respectively, which are 1.768, 1.840, and 2.773. The odds ratio value is not the same as one which indicates that there is a difference in the effect of severe and non-severe COVID-19 symptoms on depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
