Abstract
Technological developments in the shipping industry are growing rapidly, especially in Indonesia. Indonesia is a maritime country. With the development of the maritime world, there are developments in catamaran ship design. With the increasing performance of the ship, an innovation emerged, namely the existence of hydrofoils. Hydrofoil has many variations of hydrofoil installation positions on catamaran ships, each model has advantages in terms of ship hydrodynamics. Among them are avion, canard, hysuwac, and tandem, each model is combined in one design to determine the effect of resistance. Each model has advantages with different positioning on the catamaran ship. this research was conducted using numeca fine marine software. There are two models simulated, namely option 1 and option 2. In the first option model has good performance on lift and the second model has good performance on drag. each model has a difference in drag value because it is influenced by the angle of attack and speed variation so that, both models tend to experience changes at a speed of 24 knots (Fr = 1) in the aspect of lift to side force. so to get the optimum drag is at a speed of 12 kn to 16 kn with an angle of attack of 0˚ to 13˚. The second model is a model that has a small drag and also has a small side force in the second option model has shortcomings in lift and wetted surface area.
