Abstract
Inti dari proses pembuatan aromatik dari minyak bumi (light petroleum) adalah pada unit Platforming dimana pada unit ini petroleum dikonversi menjadi senyaxva aromatik, unit-unit lain hanya melakukan pemisahan menjadi produk yang diinginkan. Untuk itu, performa dari unit Platforming itu sendiri harus selalu dalam kondisi terbaik agar produk cincin aromatis dapat diproduksi dengan efisiensi yang sangat tinggi, dan menggunakan biaya produksi yang minimum. Sebagai inti dari proses pembuatan produk aromatis pada Kilang Paraxylene Cilacap, PT. PERTAM1NA UP IV Cilacap, maka unit Platforming perlu dilakukan evaluasi performance unit yang berkaitan dengan performa dari alat - alat operasi melipuli reaktor ( katalis dan yield), interstage heater, heat exchanger, stabilizer, utilities, energy consumption, dan costing (operating, maintenance, overhead cost), dimana evaluasi dilakukan berdasarkan data operasi unit Platforming dengan membandingkan data anlara data test run katalis baru (Juni 1997) dengan data operasi terbaru ( Desember 1997, Maret 1999, dan November 2006), dimana katalis yang digunakan bertipe R - 134. Secara keseluruhan, peralatan operasi pada unit Platforming (84) PT. PERTAMINA UP IV Cilacap masih beroperasi dalam kondisi yang baik

The essence of the process of making aromatics from petroleum (light petroleum) is in the Platforming unit where in this unit petroleum is converted into aromatic compounds, other units only separate it into the desired product. For this reason, the performance of the Platforming unit itself must always be in the best condition so that aromatic ring products can be produced with very high efficiency, and using minimum production costs. As the core of the aromatic product manufacturing process at the Cilacap Paraxylene Refinery, PT. PERTAM1NA UP IV Cilacap, the Platforming unit needs to be evaluated on unit performance related to the performance of operating equipment including reactors (catalyst and yield), interstage heater, heat exchanger, stabilizer, utilities, energy consumption, and costing (operating, maintenance, overhead cost), where the evaluation was carried out based on Platforming unit operating data by comparing data between new catalyst test run data (June 1997) with the latest operational data (December 1997, March 1999, and November 2006), where the catalyst used was type R - 134. Overall, the operating equipment at the Platforming unit (84) PT. PERTAMINA UP IV Cilacap is still operating in good condition
