Abstract

Pelindian pasir besi dengan metode elektrolisis telah diteliti dengan menggunakan variasi beda potensial dan waktu elektrolisis. Elektrolisis dilakukan pada beda potensial 2, 4, 6 dan 8V. Waktu elektrolisis divariasi pada 2, 4, 6 dan 8 jam. Sebelum dielektrolisis, pasir besi didekomposisi dengan NaOH pada suhu 600oC, dengan perbandingan 5 : 3 w/w. Hasil elektrolisis menunjukkan bahwa kadar titanium dalam endapan terbesar adalah 1,81% pada elektrolisis selama 8 jam dengan beda potensial 8 V. Sedangkan kadar besi dalam endapan terbesar adalah 2,27% pada elektrolisis selama 4 jam dengan beda potensial 8 V.

Leaching of iron sand by electrolysis method had been investigated. The electrolysis were carried out at varied potential and time. The electrolysis was carried out at 2, 4, 6, 8 Volt. The electrolysis times were varied at 2, 4, 6, 8 hours. Iron sand was decomposed at 600oC prior to electrolysis. The iron sand and NaOH ratio were 5 : 3 w/w. The highest titanium content on precipitate was 1,81 % on electrolysis at 8 V for 8 hours. The highest iron content on precipitate was 2,27 % on electrolysis at 8 V for 4 hours.
