Abstract

The internet, a medium through which personal data and individual privacy can be easily uploaded, used, and disseminated, is more accessible than humans could have imagined. Because of the widespread use of the internet, users frequently unknowingly share their personal information. In this final project research will be conducting analysis of the data that are typically collected and what impact does this have on user privacy and also the current privacy policies and what do they contain. There are numerous methods for analysing privacy that can be used to complete this studies research. Using OpenWPM is one example to collect data about internet user behavior by configuring the target URL. OpenWPM provides numerous options, including cookie data collection and HTTP headers. Meanwhile, it is also possible to analyze it manually. In this final project result, we perform a privacy analysis; 125 in total of government website in java area (6 Provinces). We found around 1,576/3,492 or 45% existing third-party tracking scripts and an existing cookie in the third-party tracking script which 955/1576 or 65%. All of government of websites in the Java area are flagged as malicious by VirusTotal except the Jakarta region. Furthermore, there are none of the main-domain of government website that have privacy policy and also cookie availability accept request. It is expected that after performing this privacy analysis, it will help the organizations concerned to identify potential risks that can result in leakage of personal data, contributing to the enhancement of cybersecurity and the prevention of cyberthreats, and also able to provide knowledge of whether the organization concerned are complies with existing laws and regulations regarding personal data privacy.
