Abstract

By the laws of nature, all beings and matter will eventually perish thus in turn, putting us in a battle with time. A solemn contemplation blooms into an existential crisis in the human psyche invoked the means of to never forget and be forgotten. Mankind’s continuous pursuit for immortality later then translates to finding a way to transcend the mere physicality aspects and finding the means to preserve and ground their footprint in history . This research aims to tackle the nature of ephemerality by delving into two intangible concepts of paradox and metaphysical in design through an in-depth analytical study of both Western philosophical and Western architectural domain of studies.

Menurut hukum alam, semua makhluk dan materi pada akhirnya akan binasa, sehingga pada gilirannya, kita terlibat dalam pertarungan dengan waktu. Kontemplasi yang khidmat berkembang menjadi krisis eksistensial dalam psikologi manusia yang memanggil cara untuk tidak pernah dilupakan dan dilupakan. Pengejaran terus-menerus manusia akan keabadian kemudian diterjemahkan menjadi mencari cara untuk melampaui aspek fisik semata dan menemukan cara untuk melestarikan dan mengakar jejak mereka dalam sejarah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi sifat kedaluwarsa dengan menyelami dua konsep tak berwujud dari paradoks dan metafisika dalam desain melalui studi analisis mendalam baik dari domain filosofis Barat maupun domain studi arsitektur Barat.
