Abstract

The reliability and continuity of an electric power system in the industry in serving consumers is highly dependent on the protection system being used. Protection systems have an important role in reducing damage to disrupted equipment, isolating the parts of the system that are disturbed as small as possible and as quickly as possible, and preventing the spread of disturbances that may occur. Because the consumption of electrical energy by industrial loads continues, protection equipment with good coordination is needed in the system to prevent reduced continuity of power flow, decreased reliability, and also blackouts in industrial electrical systems. As a national fertilizer producer, PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang currently has plans to add a new factory called the PIIIB factory because the old PIII factory is very old and has many problems in its electrical system. So it is necessary to update the equipment with new equipment. With the addition of the new plant, so that the continuity of production is not disturbed and the reliability value is high, a good safety planning is needed on the design of the existing electrical system. Therefore, through this final project, a planning study of the coordination of overcurrent protection in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang Plant PIIIB is appropriate in detecting and isolating disturbances so that it does not interfere with the running system and can prevent damage to electrical equipment that may occur.
