Abstract

The segment of the western part of Pacitan is one of the research sites that is often chosen because of the unique karst geomorphological conditions in the area. One of the methods used is the gravity method. This method is able to provide subsurface images derived from gravity anomalies. The gravity method can also delineate subsurface structures in the form of fault zones characterized by low density contrast with the surrounding rock. This research was conducted locally to provide an overview of the subsurface conditions in the form of fractures and the thickness of carbonate rocks. The carbonate rock thickness analysis was carried out using a 3D density inversion model that combines 2 (two) inversion methods, namely Singular Value Decomposition and Occam inversion on residual anomaly data. Fault analysis using the Second Vertical Derivative (SVD) method. The data used are primary data measured in the field in the Donorejo and Punung sub-districts. Satellite data is also processed to the inversion process to support field data. From the results of the modeling analysis, the carbonate rocks in the study area are thinning towards the north-east. The carbonate rock has a thickness of 300 m in the south and 100 m in the north of the study area. In addition, carbonate rocks have a thickness of 430 m in the west and 200 m in the east. There is a suspected fault at X=500.7, Y=9104.9; X= 500.3, Y=9104.8; and X=502.08 Y=9104.9 which is indicated by the high contrast density values. This conjecture is also supported by satellite data showing a suspected fault at the same location. The results of the SVD graph analysis show that the type of fault located at coordinates X = 500.1, Y = 9104.4 and X = 501.1, Y = 9104.5 is an ascending fault type, this is supported by SVD graph analysis of satellite data which shows a similar graphic response.
